4. My Place in the World aims for young people to explain their own culture & understand other cultures, using creative arts & physical activity-based approaches.

5. Breaking Barriers plans to facilitate the exchange of different experiences & lifestyles to work against fear of the unknown & racism.

DoMe : Dynamics of Multicultural Europe

Exploring Prejudice through History, Culture and Identity

A world growing increasingly closer is creating opportunities and challenges for people of different social backgrounds and origins. Facing these challenges is one of the major tasks for schools. Actively promoting the integration of immigrants is the main objective of this project. It is crucial for us to offer help for young people who are willing and able to be included. Another of the aims of our project is to increase the acceptance of being different.

Students and teachers of ten schools from eight different countries (Poland, Bosnia, England, Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Turkey, Germany) are getting in contact, using modern communication technologies to exchange experiences, information and to develop an understanding of each other.

Expanding individual students’ horizons is the basis for developing an understanding of their active role as a European citizen. Supporting this process can also be a worthwhile experience for participating teachers, and their continued professional development.
